On September 21st, 2021, Mr. Le Minh Tri, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Party Personnel Committee, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, had a meeting with Mr. Orlando Nicolá Hermández Guillén, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Viet Nam. Attending the meeting, there were Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy; leaders of Department of administration and general affairs; Department of public prosecutions and supervision over the investigation of economic crimes and Department of International cooperation and Mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Minh Tri, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Orlando Nicolá Hermández GuillénAmbassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Viet Nam; congratulated him on being trusted by the leaders of the Party of the State of Cuba as a bridge for the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Cuba and wished him a successful working term in Viet Nam.

Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, Mr. Le Minh Tri congratulated the success of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (April 16 to April 19, 2021), the great results that Cuba achieved in the process of implementing the policy of updating the socialist socio-economic system set forth by the 6th Congress and reaffirmed by the 8th Congress. It is firmly believed that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will overcome all difficulties and challenges, continue to successfully implement the policy of updating the socio-economic system proposed by the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Overview of the meeting
Sharing about the difficulties and consequences that the Covid-19 pandemic that had affected all aspects of the economic, political and social life of all countries, including Viet Nam and Cuba; appreciated the Cuban Government for its practical support to Viet Nam in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidmic; its assignment of medical experts to help Viet Nam cope with the pandemic; medicine donation to support the treatment of Covid-19 to Viet Nam. At the same time, congratulated Cuba for being the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to successfully research and produce a vaccine against Covid-19 on its own.
Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, Mr. Le Minh Tri hopes that, in the future, as a connector, the Ambassador will pay attention, support for the cooperation relationship between the People’s Procuracy of two coumtries to have new developments, enriching the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Orlando Nicolá Hermández Guillén, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba in Viet Nam, thanked for the attentive and enthusiastic reception of the leaders of the Supreme People’s Procuracy; At the same time, he affirmed that the Vietnamese Government has taken effective measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. Mr. Orlando Nicolá Hermández Guillén believed that, after the controlling the epidemic, the two countries will continue to promote cooperation in all areas, especially the law research exchang acrivities between judicial agencies, which contributes to bringing the good traditional relations between Viet Nam and Cuba to new heights.
