On March 25, 2022, the Supreme People's Procuracy held a Ceremony to award the Medal "For the Cause of Procuracy" to Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke, Prosecutor of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, Chief Advisor of the Project for Harmonized, Practical Legislation and Uniform Application of Law targeting Year 2020 (JICA Project 2020). Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy presided over the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Kono Ryuzo, the new Chief Advisor of the Project for Enhancing the Quality and Efficiency of Developing and Implementing Laws in Viet Nam and representatives of leaders of Department of International Cooperation and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters; Department of Legal Affairs and Department of Emulation and Commendation of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
At the ceremony, Mr. Mai Trung Thanh, Director of the Department of Emulation and Commendation announced Decision No. 39/QD-VKSTC dated March 23, 2022 of the Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy on awarding the Medal "For the Cause of Procuracy” to Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke, Prosecutor of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, Chief Advisor of the Project "Harmonized, Practical Legislation and Uniform Application of Law targeting Year 2020” and the Project "Enhancing the Quality and Efficiency of Developing and Implementing Laws in Viet Nam" due to his effective and practical contributions to the construction and development of the Viet Nam People's Procuracies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions and effective support of Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke and the experts of the JICA Project for Viet Nam in general and for the Supreme People's Procuracy in particular in recent years. At the same time, he affirmed that although Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke's term took place at the time of the Covid-19 outbreak, he had coordinated with the Supreme People's Procuracy to implement and successfully complete the planned activities. Thereby, contributing to the well implementation of the Project on Judicial Reform in the People's Procuracy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, meeting the requirements of building and perfecting the socialist rule of law State of Vietnam and meeting the needs of training, fostering and improving the quality of procurators in Viet Nam.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Dung wishes that, in the coming time, Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke will continue to make positive contributions to help Vietnamese judicial agencies, including the Supreme People's Procuracy to effectively implement the activities of the JICA Project, meeting the requirements of judicial reform and international integration.
Also at the ceremony, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy also congratulated Mr. Kono Ryuzo, the new Chief Advisor of JICA Project. At the same time, he hopes that as the Chief Advisor of the Project, Mr. Kono Ryuzo will continue to accompany and support Vietnamese judicial authorities, including the Supreme People's Procuracy in performing the task of legal and judicial reform in Vietnam within the framework of the JICA Project in the period of 2022 - 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke thanked the Leaders of the Supreme People's Procuracy and Departments, Institutes under the Supreme People Procuracy of Viet Nam especially the Department of International Cooperation and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters; the Department of Legal Affairs for their cooperation and for their cooperation during his work in Vietnam, thereby actively contributing to the consolidation of the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan.
Mr. Yokomaku Kosuke affirmed that he will continue to make practical contributions to strengthening the friendship and good cooperative relations between Viet Nam and Japan in general and the judicial agencies of the two countries in particular in the future. At the same time, he hopes that the Supreme People's Procuracy will continue to create favorable conditions and help Mr. Kono Ryuzo, the new Chief Advisor to successfully complete his duties in Viet Nam.
