Leaders of the Supreme People's Procuracy received the delegation of the Ministry of Justice of Japan

September 23, 2019, Mr. Tran Cong Phan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam had a meeting with the Delegation of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, led by Mr. Ryu Uehara, Director of Police Department of Criminal General Department who was on a business trip in Viet Nam.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of International Cooperation and Mutual legal assistance in Criminal matters, Department of Legal Affairs, Department of Emulation and Commendation, University for Prosecutors in Hanoi and Investigation Agency of Supreme People's Procuracy.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Cong Phan, Deputy Prosecutor General expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Ryu Uehara and the rest of the delegation to visit and work with the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam; at the same time, he highly appreciated the friendly and cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and Japan since the past time, which is gradually developing well and widely in many fields. In particular, the relationship between the judicial and legal agencies of the two countries is increasingly strengthened and developed through the JICA Project, which actively serves Viet Nam's judicial reform requirements.

Mr. Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy desires that the Supreme People's Procuracy and Japanese judicial agencies continue to have more exchange delegation visit Viet Nam to work and promote cooperation on many areas; supporting each other on international forums, contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between the two countries in general and between judicial agencies of Viet Nam - Japan in particular in the coming time.

Mr. Ryu Uehara, Director of the Police Department of the Criminal General Department, Ministry of Justice of Japan thanked the Leaders of Supreme People's Procuracy for taking time to welcome the delegation. At the same time, he inform that the purpose of the delegation's visit is to strengthen cooperation in the criminal justice field between the Supreme People's Procuracy and the Japanese Ministry of Justice; to discuss the recent reform in Japan's criminal justice field; sharing experiences in fighting crime using high technology, digital investigations and experiences in asset recovery due to crime. Mr. Ryu Uehara affirmed that the Japanese Ministry of Justice would continue to support the Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam in effectively implementing the proposed cooperation programs, contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between Viet Nam and Japan.

Overview of the meeting

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Cong Phan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy also presented the Medal "Contributing to the Procuracy” to Mr. Nubuhiro Matsuo, Prosecutor of the Japanese Ministry of Justice, Specialist participating in the Project "Harmonizing the current law and unifying the application of the law towards 2020" (JICA) due to effective and practical contributions to the construction and development of the People's Procuracy.

The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy acknowledged and appreciated Mr. Nubuhiro Matsuo's contributions to the Supreme People's Procuracy. His contributions help the judicial and legal cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan constantly developing, becoming more and more substantive and effective, contributing to strengthening the strategic partnership between two countries.

The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, Mr. Tran Cong Phan wishes that in the coming time, Mr. Nubuhiro Matsuo will continue to make effective and practical contributions; helping Vietnamese judicial agencies, including the Supreme People's Procuracyimplementing the JICA Programs effectively, meeting the requirements of judicial reform and international integration.

Speaking at the medal ceremony, Mr. Nubuhiro Matsuo thanked the Supreme People's Procuracy for supporting, helping JICA Project as well as himself during the process of working in the past. Mr. Nubuhiro Matsuo affirmed that he would continue to make practical contributions to strengthening the friendship and good cooperation between Viet Nam - Japan in general and the judicial agencies of the two countries in particular in the time to come.
